To my friends and family-
For those of you who don't know, I have spent a great deal of the last decade working as a contractor in Chicago. I have learned a great deal about trades and labor, and I have made many friends in the electrical and low voltage fields, and have come far along with who I am as a person. It is noble, honest work, and I'm proud to have become the man I am as a result of it. That said, there is more to the man I want to be- I know I'm not reaching my potential, and I know I can be greater than I am.
And so I have decided to go back to school! I will be enrolling in Northwestern University's Coding Boot Camp, a rigorous and thorough course that is tried and tested in getting individuals like myself battle-ready for the market. Coding is a lucrative and versatile field, and as the world moves closer and closer to automation, I find myself wanting to be a part of it, and Northwestern's credentials speak for themselves.
It is my intent to crush this course and come out with better opportunities than I've had in my entire adult life. It will take hard work and dedication, and I am excitedly up to the task. I know what it means to fully commit oneself to education, and I can't wait to be back in school; fully utilizing my love of learning and desire to excel.
I'm asking my friends and family to help make this dream possible. Tuition is a whopping $10k, and I will be working full-time to keep myself afloat as I reintroduce school into my busy life. Student loans are unreasonable at this time for me, and so I'm asking the ones I love and respect for help. With your support, I believe I can do anything I set my mind to.
The details-
Classes begin on the 14th of January, 2019. I will be paying the tuition in installments, but I need to procure as much of my goal as possible to ensure I'll make every payment on time, with no concerns or distractions to take away from my schoolwork. By December 1st of this year, I hope to have my seat secured with a $2500 deposit, with subsequent payments of $1250 for the next six months. By June of 2019, I will have paid my tuition in-full, will be certified in Coding, and will have a portfolio made from my own sweat and blood to make me ready for new opportunities and a new stage of my life.
I am asking for donations, big and small, to make this possible. Your donations will be applied in any way I can make practical. School supplies, meals, bills- but by and large, my tuition.
If you've made it this far, I am honored to have had your attention. Knowing that I can make this possible through the love of my friends and family is a treasure and a blessing; one that I will cherish and pay forward for the rest of my life.
If you have any questions, please reach out.
Thanks again, even if you don't donate. I'm just happy to be moving forward once more.
