Ben Carrigan Medical Expenses
December 19th my Mom and Dad were called to the ER to have my Dad undergo some tests. Later that morning would be the first time we heard the term GBM, Glioblastoma Multiforme, a terminal aggressive brain cancer. On Christmas Eve my Dad would undergo surgery to remove a large tumor from his brain. That surgery went well, but afterwards he suffered a Brain bleed that nearly cost him his life on the Earth. Since then he has undergone chemo and radiation, and a second round of chemo to keep the tumors from growing.
He is unable to work and my moms full time job now is to be his caretaker and advocate. She has done everything in her power to take care of the house, bills, medical expenses all while grieving for the life she thought she would share with my Dad. She has also been taking him to Speech Therapy, Oncology Appointments and has slept in her car this last hospital stay because she can’t bear to be far away from him. Due to Covid 19, she was not able tostay in the room with him...this is the firsttime she’s been away from him since December 19...
We understand that many have given already and many have bought shirts. From the bottom of our hearts on our parents behalf, thank you. Nothin in the world could have prepared us for this diagnosis and the grief and pain it has brought.
But I know my parents hearts. And I know they would want me to tell you that with this pain and grief we have seen joy and faithfulness and some truly beautiful things.
God is good.
All the time.
Thank you to any who feel led to give. It is more helpful than we could ever explain.
