In October 2015, our advice giver, confidant, musician, artist, and friend to all, Ben, was in an awful car accident. Five months later, on March 23, 2016, Ben succumbed to his injuries. Not a day goes by where we don't think of Ben and all that he gave to us on his far too short time on earth. A few months ago, a few of us were thinking of a way to honor and remember Ben, especially in the Maranacook community where he gave so much of his time and love.
Ben was a man who only had kindness in his heart. Kindness for his friends, family, and strangers. Anyone who knew Ben was a better person because of it. On top of this, Ben was an artist. Physically and musically, Ben had talent. That's why we're starting this scholarship.
On Thursday June 6, 2019, we will gift a $500 scholarship to a student at Maranacook Community High School who is pursuing secondary education in the arts or music. The scholarship will be in Ben’s name and will be given to a student who represents all that Ben was to us - a kind heart, a giving person, a friend to all, a light in the darkness.
Please help us raise the money to kick off this scholarship in memory of a man who did so much for everyone in his life. Every penny counts, and we are already so grateful for the support from our community.
