We're Tadhg and Ben, two Energy Engineers from Ireland. In August 2024, we're volunteering with the NGO EcoSwell in the Talara province of Peru.

Life In Talara

Imagine living without electricity. For 1.5 million Peruvians, this is their reality. That's nearly three times the population of Dublin City! For those who have electricity, constant blackouts and soaring energy costs increase their hardship.

Water scarcity compounds these challenges, with some households receiving a mere 6 hours of water per week. To cook, many families resort to open fires, exposing loved ones to harmful smoke and respiratory illnesses.
