Ben is a kind, funny, otherwise healthy 36 year old man. Our wedding ....
was the happiest day of our lives. We danced to, "Sleep Walk," by Santo and Johnny. Ben and I settled into our modest home with our cats. It was perfect.

On September 30, 2016, my husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He is having a very hard time with feeding tube and has lost over 40 pounds in 6 months. After he finishes chemo and radiation, we will wait 6 weeks until the surgery. This whole ordeal has turned both of our lives around. I would give anything to take the pain from him. We are trying to remain positive.

Ben is a civil engineer (though unable to work at this time) and I was an Assistant Principal for a high school for students with unique (special) needs prior to going on long-term disability last year due to severe back/ hip damage .

Ben is currently going through chemotherapy and radiation. We expect the surgery to be in January.
