Beloved teacher diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
My dear cousin, Linda Kirchner Bourne, has
been very ill for the past 3 1/2 months. I would like to first tell you a little about her. Linda is
the mother of two wonderful young men. She
is a loving daughter, aunt, niece, cousin and
friend. Linda is a loved and well respected
commercial art instructor at Marchman
Technical College. She is an avid animal lover
and is an active member of the Second Time Arounders majorette group. She is the most
kind hearted person I know. Her strength and endurance is something we all should strive
for. In the last several years Linda has seen her mother through 2 back surgeries and a hip
fracture while also watching over her father
who suffered from congestive heart failure.
While practically living at the hospital to care
for her mother, her son, Eric, was involved in a car accident that involved a drunk driver. She was at his side for months.
Linda was in the hospital for 3 months while
getting the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a
rare cancer. She is currently undergoing
chemo and dialysis three times a week, as the cancer has affected her kidneys. After
spending weeks in the hospital Linda learned
that her beloved father, Ken Kirchner, had
passed away. As you can imagine, this news
was devastating.
Despite all Linda has been through she
continues to stay positive, but not working for
the last 3 months is proving to be a hardship
financially. Linda rents a home by herself and has the usual expenses with that. She misses
her students and work and is thriving on the
kindness of longtime friends and family.
Linda was in a rehab facility for two weeks and was finally able to return home a couple of
weeks ago. There’s no telling when Linda
can return to work. We are hopeful that she
will win this battle with her determination,
doctors and the love, support and prayers from all whose live’s she has touched. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated♥️. Thank you
