Beloved Teacher Becky Bell Battles Breast Cancer!

In May 2022, my dear friend Becky was diagnosed with breast cancer. With one year left before retiring from teaching, Becky has been forced to take an early retirement. She will lose at least $10,000 in income over this school year. This sudden change in health and working status is a huge shock to her life plans.

Becky is currently undergoing chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor before additional surgical plans can be made. In spite of using a cool cap to protect her hair follicles, her hair is falling out, and she took the bold step Wednesday to shave her remaining hairs. But she remains positive and is quick with a witty retort. (You know Becky!)

Although Becky has health insurance, there will still be extensive medical bills to pay. Additionally, she will need a wig or two to keep her appearance and confidence up. Another big problem will be covering bills before she can look for another job after taking time to recover. So she is struggling. I DO NOT WANT HER TO HAVE THESE FINANCIAL WORRIES while she fights this evil cancer!

This is a salt-of-the-earth woman who has given her whole life to service of others, welcoming ALL to drama club, teaching English, drama, CTE skills, directing plays, directing musicals, running the auditorium after school hours, driving and flying with kids to conferences, …. You know how busy Becky always is!

So now I ask YOU to help Becky get the best treatment available and to reduce her stress during her cancer treatment.
