Beloved Pianist, Rob Woyshner, Needs Transplant

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read this request written on behalf of my beloved pianist/accompanist and friend Rob Woyshner. In brief, Rob is a pianist of the highest quality.  His claim to fame is to be the best accompanist to any musician whether it be cellist, violinist, or singer.  Anyone who needs an accompanist wants Rob. He has his Masters in Accompaniment from Juilliard.  Need I say more.

My name is Marianna Giordano.  I have known Rob since 1990 when I first met him when I came from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music to pursue a singing career. I needed an accompanist and my luck was fortunate to have found Rob immediately. We have been steadfast colleagues and friends ever since. Of course, in the course of our relationship, I have come to know his family very well.  Rob, his lovely wife, Sharon, and three great children, Andrew, Kyla, and Evan.

Rob is having a BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT because he has a rare blood disease called Aplastic Anemia.

I too had a rare blood disease, Myelodysplastic Syndrome.  I too had to have a BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT. It is because of my experience, first hand, that I can reach out to you with the utmost knowledge of what I tell you and why I can ask you to help my friend.  If my family and friends did not help me I would not be a thriving self-employed singer and teacher today. My transplant was seven years ago.

Let me be up-front. It takes a lot of money to go through this procedure.  In addition to medical fees, all your surroundings at home have to be bacteria-free, or it can kill you, literally!  The procedure will leave him with a severely compromised immune system for an extended period of time.  He will either have to move (which I had to do; into a brand new apartment) or clean the house top to bottom.  Rob's carpet will need to be replaced, the roof needs redoing so it does not leak, he needs a new bed, and cleaners have to come in and sanitize everything: walls, furniture, etc.  He needs to have a clean car because, when he returns home after spending 100 days at the hospital, he will have to drive back to the hospital twice a week to get his blood checked.  You get the idea!!  The biggest help he needs is with his income.  After a procedure like this, you really don't know when you can get back to work.  In my case, it took me nearly six years to fully return to work.  If I had not had help and trust that my family and friends were there for me, the stress would have been too unbearable because I was not able to work full time.  I am back working full time now, and I know, in time, Rob will be able to return to work too.  However, I want to help him be able to take his time and heal properly, at his own pace, and not feel a financial burden to push too hard, which can cause setbacks in his recovery.  Your contribution will not only help his financial situation but will also help his emotional and mental state so he can be in the best position to heal physically.

So please, open your heart.  The world needs Rob’s music, I need his friendship!

Sincerely, with love,

Marianna Giordano
