Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend!

On July 7, 2025, we received a devastating call from the rehabilitation center—my mother was unresponsive and being rushed to the hospital. There, she was diagnosed with a GI bleed and near-total kidney failure caused by severe dehydration. Miraculously, within a week, she made a full recovery. With rehydration and electrolytes, her kidney function returned, and the GI bleed resolved. On July 14th at 2 PM, she was discharged back to the rehab center.
After notifying work that I’d be returning due to her recovery, I received a shocking call the next morning at 5:40 AM—my mother had unexpectedly passed away despite all life-saving efforts. The disbelief and heartbreak were overwhelming, especially after seeing her doing so well just hours earlier.
My extraordinary mother, Barbara Marie Keenan-Snider, was the embodiment of kindness, strength, and compassion. For 27 years, she cared selflessly for others—both in the medical field caring for the elderly and as a beloved daycare teacher. Even after suffering two strokes that left her partially paralyzed, she remained a pillar of resilience. After losing her husband of 27 years, she pressed on with unwavering courage.
Her generosity was boundless—serving churches, homeless shelters, and community drives. She touched countless lives and was a mother figure to many. A devoted grandmother to five grandchildren, she poured endless love into her family. Though she had no retirement or savings, her life’s work was one of pure love and service.
Now, as we grieve her sudden loss, we are committed to honoring her with the dignity she deserves. Her final wish was to be cremated and laid to rest near her mother. If you are able to help contribute to her burial expenses, it would be a heartfelt blessing.
I find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, watching over us, her legacy shining on in every act of kindness we carry forward. May her life continue to inspire us all.
