Our Beloved Gurjit Singh
Born on December 12, 1983,Hussainpur Dullowal in Punjab India, Gurjit Singh was a loving friend husband, father & son. We’d like to honour the life & legacy of a man who was not just a man of our community but it’s heart & soul. Gurjit known to most people as ‘Chef’ was the Langari of Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar, where he dedicated his life to the service of others. He was a man of extraordinary generosity, commitment & brought passion into the kitchen every single day. Chef always had a smile on his face and touched the lives of everyone around him with positive energy & kindness.
The meals he prepared filled the stomachs of hundreds of people daily & his kitchen created an atmosphere where individuals of all ages gathered to do seva. Gurjit spent a lot of time engaging with the youth and teaching them the principles of selflessness. Chef was always there to lend a helping hand, share a laugh or offer a comforting word. His absence has left a void in our lives but his spirit, passion & memories will continue to inspire us.
Gurjit leaves behind his mother, father, wife & son to whom he looked after financially. He had dreams of bringing his family to Canada and was in the tail end of the process of attaining his Permanent Residence status before his sudden passing. We are currently asking for donations to help support his family in India and fund his son’s Sahib Singh education.
Our fundraiser goal is to raise $100,000 for the Gurjit's family by September 4, 2024. We appreciate your support, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
