From a National Championship honor to a nearly fatal accident -
It was a roller coaster weekend for Riding Director and Coach, Chrystal Wood of the Grier School as she was returning home from IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) National Finals, at Otterbein University in Ohio.
After her team had won the National Championship title, Chrystal made the 7 hour drive back their school in Tyrone, Pennsylvania and then continued home.
It was nearly midnight with windy and rainy weather conditions, causing a large tree to fall on top of her vehicle and directly through the passenger side window continuing out the other side, nearly missing the side of Chrystal's head.
Miraculously, Chrystal only suffered a very minor injury, however her truck and the only means of transportation for her, were totaled.
This Go Fund Me campaign has been started unbeknownst to Chrystal to assist her in replacing her truck. This truck saved Chrystal's life.
Chrystal is a very strong individual and is always the 'helper' and would never ask for help. We, her family and friends are trying to help her now in her time of need.
Chrystal is a very carrying and selfless person. She cares deeply about her students and spends long hours at the barn during the week and travels nearly every weekend for her student's horse shows.
She is not only giving lessons to her students, but also helping them personally. Many of the girls are thousands of miles from their own families, and Chrystal always makes time to assist them with advise, discussions on their future and being a mentor. She and her family even host an annual Easter celebration every year at their home for many of the girls who are not able to travel to their homes for the holiday.
Please help us help Chrystal, our selfless coach and friend as soon as possible.
