Our beloved Earl Green (a.ka. “Oompa”) father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, loved one, has made his transition.

He suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, but his mental illness never stopped his loving, kind, giving spirit and nature that has kept this family going through some of our toughest times. Earl Green was a man that would give you the clothes off of his own back, literally, if you needed it. He never hesitated to check on his loved ones and show them how much he cared. He was our strength, our backbone, and the light our family needed through some of our darkest moments together. He kept this family going with his immense amount of love and kindness.

All too often, mental illness is a taboo topic for many families. The thought of our loved ones fighting through mental illness can be a terrifying reality & often very hard to watch; but despite what anyone goes through mentally, they are still human. They are still people who love, care and feel very deeply just as every human on this planet does. Suffering from mental illness does not define you or anybody else! Our “Oompa” was a perfect example of that. Everyone who has ever had the pleasure of being in Earl Green’s presence felt nothing but love and compassion and that’s what made him the special human that he was. 

During this tough time, my family asks that you donate anything you can in honor of our “Oompa” who is loved so dearly. Our family wants to raise money for funeral expenses as well as to raise mental health awareness in the name of Earl Green, a true warrior.
