Hi everyone, my name’s Danny. I’m 21 and a student at UCSB.

While I was home for the summer in Marin, CA, I was out playing fetch with my 11-month-old puppy, Bella, when the unthinkable happened — she was struck by a car.

For days, Bella fought so hard to stay with us. She went through multiple treatments and surgeries, but despite all efforts, she passed away last night. The cost of trying to save her life reached over $12,000, leaving me with an overwhelming pile of vet bills and without my best friend by my side.

Bella was the happiest, most loving dog. She brought joy not just to me, but to so many friends and neighbors in Isla Vista. Losing her has been heartbreaking, but the unexpected financial burden makes it even harder.
