Why Bellgray ?

I launched Bellgray in May 2016 as an online destination for corporate women to buy stylish, sophisticated and office-appropriate work clothes. Having worked in finance for the past few years, I realize the dire need for Bellgray to exist and am very passionate about solving this problem. It is extremely discouraging for women when they look at the options out there for corporate clothing compared to the wide array of options available to men. The options for women have not grown as we have grown our numbers in professional roles. Due to the overwhelming amount of positive traction Bellgray has received, I have transitioned into running the business full time. We have had positive traction on all channels we are measuring: sales, social media, repeat customers and visitors, pages per view, minutes spent on the site, email subscription growth, and are hitting all of our Key Performance Indicators. Since launching in May , we have had over 20,000 visitors to site and have been featured in over 11 publications including Fast Company, The Business Journal, BizWomen, The Austin American Statesman and many more.  We have spoken at large corporate offices, law firms and banks on topics such as appropriate work attire and female leadership. Even with a limited advertising budget, we have been able to drive increasing numbers of customers to the site who are so excited about  (finally) having an e-commerce platform like Bellgray and our mission to inspire female leadership and success more broadly.

What Will the Raise Accomplish?

We are not ready for a formal round of funding yet, but there is a clear opportunity from all the positive press and feedback we have received for Bellgray to accelerate its growth. I am willing to work on this business for free because I believe that having that full-time dedication will take the company to the next level. With the raise I am really looking to expand our marketing efforts and outreach. This funding will allow me to do much more with the company to help our target customers discover Bellgray.

What Will Your Contribution Help?

I have personally invested over $50,000 of my own capital into Bellgray to date. The $100,000 I am raising would go towards operating and advertising expenses over the next year. The expenses include growing the business through advertising ($30,800), a photo shoot for the website ($7,000), travel and conference fees for speaking engagements ($10,000), employees and freelance hires ($22,500), growing our social media presence and collaborations ($16,100), and finally website development and maintenance ($13,600).
