Hi, my name is Jessica.

On the 16th August 2025 at the emergency vets I was told my English Springer Spaniel Belle has Mammary tumours, she is 10. Belles has recently been for further testing and has had blood tests and an FNA procedure the results came back confirming the mammary tumours.

Belle is more than just a dog to me, she is everything, she’s my child and best friend.

Belle requires surgery on 30th September. I’ve had weeks of stress and after a dispute with the insurance company they have confirmed they will pay out £1400 and I will have to fund the difference which is around £900. I’ve spent £1,500 in the last 2-3 months in vet bills.

I am fearing the worst and so worried the tumours may have spread. I’m yet to know until after X-rays and the operation as to whether they are benign or not. If the tumours have spread prior to the op, then the vet will discuss the best option going forward.

The last few weeks have been horrendous for Belle. She has been really poorly, not herself and has been on pain relief and antibiotics.

It has been extremely stressful and one of the worst times of my life and I’m really worried about what’s to come.
