Hello Everyone!
Thank you for supporting me on my journey to be a thriving sophomore at CSU studying Music (Trombone Performance) and Political Science! I’m sending this to you to request a donation to help me take a fantastic trip with my classmates to Spain.
Last year, I learned that the Colorado State University Wind Symphony would be taking an educational trip to Spain in March of 2025, and I was incredibly inspired and excited for this awesome opportunity (If you would like more information about the details of the trip, feel free to reach out with any questions or view this PowerPoint coming directly from the Director of Bands Dr. Rebecca Phillips: https://colostate-my.sharepoint.com/:p:/g/personal/bmh3642_colostate_edu/ESJCfnC5XjdOuqzW4R9DGO8BDXS2tdd16DTdJmqfhDv7nw?e=RsDeUA). In my freshman year, I was in the lower Symphonic Band both semesters. From the moment I learned about the trip, I created a goal for myself to work hard, dedicate myself to practicing, and improve on my instrument enough to get into this prestigious ensemble, and after months of rigorous practicing, it all paid off! I made it into the CSU Wind Symphony as Principal Euphonium and get to go to Spain next March!
Now I need your help to figure out how to pay for it. In total, the trip costs $3,500 per student. Unfortunately, my financial position at this time does not allow me to pay that in total, which is why I turn to all of you. I have gotten a job at the campus dining hall, and I still have savings from past jobs. Neither of those will cover the costs in time for the trip.
This trip is a dream of mine that I hope is one of many opportunities where I get to play and learn in a fantastic place. I spent so much time preparing for an opportunity like this throughout my life; in grade school, I took six years total of Spanish where I learned the language, culture, history, and beauty of Spanish-speaking countries (Spain being the focus of many units). I've also been waiting my whole musical life for an opportunity like this, namely, to play music alongside incredibly talented colleagues and make music in an impactful and educational way.
Even $5 is an immense help. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey; you have played a part in getting me to where I am today, and I will always be grateful to each and every one of my friends and family that have had my back and lifted me up all these years.
Lots of love,
Belle Hybertson
