Bellatrix's Emergency Overnight Vet Bill
Hello friends and family!
The matriarch of our 3 doggo family, Bellatrix, was hospitalized yesterday afternoon at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic after suffering symptoms very closely dipicting GDV, also known as "Twisted Stomach". One minute she seemed fine, the next she wouldn't eat, her abdomen distended 2-3x it's normal size, she was trying to vomit, but nothing was coming up and she seemed in pain.
After rushing her to the hospital where they did labwork and radiographs, we were lucky to find out that she definitely had gas build up in her abdomen but no torsion or "twisted stomach", but the bloodwork showed that she was suffering from acute Pancreatitis. We are unsure of how this happened, as we don't give her any human food, but she does sometimes find things to munch on outside before we can stop her.
They sedated her and tubed her to get a lot of gas out of her stomach and have her on constant IV fluids and medication that will help calm down her Pancreas and help move the gas through her system.
She is stable and will be coming home today, but as one can imagine, and overnight Emergency Vet Bill is quite costly. While we don't typically like asking others for things, if you are willing and able to donate anything, Marcos and I and our 3 doggos would be forever grateful!!
Love,
Christopher & Marcos

While we don't have the final bill yet, last we checked, it was already over $2,200. While we don't expect to make that amount through this fundraiser, anything to put a dent into that would be amazing! If you are unable to donate monetarily, we completely understand. Money is tight with inflation. Even if you just reach out to show support and love, we greatly appreciate that, too!
