Isabella was diagnosed with cancer in August of 2024, a few days after the beginning of her freshman year of high school. For the next 10 months, she went through chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries. When all of these were done, we were hoping she was in the clear.
Isabella began to heal and regain strength and live her life as a normal 15-year-old girl. However, 3 months after treatment, we went in for her checkup and found more masses had grown.
Unfortunately, for the most part, this cancer seems to be chemo-resistant. Insurance doesn't want to pay for the medicine she needs to target the mutation in her cells. Our best option at this point is a clinical study in New York. It will take a lot of money for us to get her back and forth for the treatments because we live in Indiana.
Obviously, we have been/will be missing a lot of work. We will also have to pay for transportation while we're there to get around, food, lodging, all of the things. Anything that anyone is willing to donate will help us greatly. We appreciate everyone.
