Bella’s Osteosarcoma Treatment
Bella is a go go sweet dynamic 7 year old Briard. She has boundless enthusiasm for life and loves to run and play. She has just been diagnosed with a type of bone cancer, osteosarcoma, in her right front leg. The disease is very painful and to relieve pain and give Bella a fighting chance to buy time, her leg must be removed. Her lungs are presently clear and she is fit and presently managing her pain so she is a good candidate for treatment. The amputation and chemotherapy (which is a kind that is generally well tolerated) are very expensive. I have few reserves and several recent expenses (dental and car) that made my decision to treat very difficult. But if you know Bella and I, you know we have a deep bond with each other. And she has been telling me she is not ready to leave the planet yet. She is worried about all my tears and SHE has been trying to cheer me up. So like a dog. I just would really appreciate any help you can give and it will go straight to her vet expenses. We are hoping to have some more runs on the beach. Photo by my friend Carol Jansen.
