Hi all, my name is Bella Ford. I have been given the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica in June on a medical mission trip through Vida Volunteers! After graduating from the University of Tennessee, my goal is to attend medical school to become an emergency medicine physician. This mission trip is a wonderful opportunity to gain medical knowledge through serving others. There is a concerning inequality in the urban and rural areas of Costa Rica and a significant lack of health education. I will be primarily stationed in Liberia in which I will have four full clinic days to work closely with the leaders of the community to help reduce these inequalities and increase health literacy. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to promote health and make an impact in this developing nation while developing both intercultural and leadership skills in a real-world environment.
In order to fulfill this experience, I am asking for your support to cover the cost of my trip and traveling expenses. If you would like to support me in my adventure, I would greatly appreciate it! I will link the fundraising page below. If you are unable to donate, I would appreciate your prayers for safe travels and the tenants of Costa Rica I will be helping.
Sincerely,
Bella
