Bella's Battle To Transplant: Love, Hope and Recovery

Bella, a vibrant 18-year-old who just celebrated her high school graduation, is now fighting for her life after unexpected complications from a liver surgery on June 27. What began as a hopeful procedure turned into a 16-day stay for liver failure, and she has since been transferred to the University of Utah ICU where doctors discovered she also was in kidney failure. Bella now faces the daunting journey of waiting for both a liver and kidney transplant.

Her mom, Trish, has been by her side every step of the way, but the financial strain of extended hospitalization, medical bills, travel, and housing costs is overwhelming. Bella is on the transplant list, and they are hopeful organs will be available for her in the coming weeks, but Bella and Trish will need to remain in Utah for 3 to 6 months after the transplant.
