Bellamy’s Helmet Treatment
My niece, Bellamy, is 8 months old and has just been diagnosed with Brachycephaly and Plagiocephaly. This means that she has flattening to the back and side of her head. She falls into the “severe” category that affects only 1% of babies in the world.
To fix this, she needs to wear a specialist helmet which will cost £2050 in total. Unfortunately, the NHS does not fund this treatment. Without this helmet, we worry that there will be long term effects on her self-esteem as she grows up. She has received physio since she was only a few weeks old and after months of repositioning treatment with little success, private care is our only option.
She needs to have a specialist helmet made from a clinic in Bolton and she will have to wear this for 23 hours a day for approximately 6 months, having it altered every 2-4 weeks as she grows and hopefully as her head improves.
I am hoping to help raise this amount to cover the treatment costs so at least the financial stress is taken away from my sister and brother-in-law and they can focus on making Bellamy better. Bellamy is such a beautiful, calm, and happy baby and we just want the best for her future. We would really appreciate any amount you could give to help with her treatment.
