Hi! My name is Bella and in September I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
At 5,895 metres, Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and one of the 7 summits of the world.
I’ll be heading to Tanzania for the trek in late August, and trekking the Lemosho route over the first week of September to attempt to reach the Roof of Africa!
I am fundraising for 3 charities on my Kilimanjaro climb - the money raised will be split equally between them.
WWF
World Wildlife Fund is dedicated to protecting and conserving wildlife around the world. In Africa they support animals including elephants, rhinos, gorillas and many others. Many know I love wildlife and feel passionate about conserving animals and the environment following past trips to Africa (I even have an adopted WWF elephant!)
Moving Mountains Trust
Based in Kenya (just over the border from Kili) this charity supports poverty relief, improving education and health for communities in East Africa and Nepal, including food programmes, mental health support, schools, sports and community programmes and more. One of the schools they support is on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro itself.
Cancer Research UK
This UK-based charity works to research, prevent and treat over 200 cancers. Breast cancer has impacted my family directly multiple times and this cause is very close to my heart.
If you can spare even a small amount, please do consider donating! ️
