Bella's Storm--Help This Pass
Donation protected
On August 23rd 2018 our family was hit with unexpected news. It was confirmed that Bella has testicular cancer--ironic to say the least--and had to have emergency surgery to hopefully remove the cancer. After the procedure Bella had to wait for insurance to authorize her CT scan to see if the cancer had spread. During this time Bella also turned 26! Meaning within 30 days she had to get her own insurance, while waiting for the current policy to approve the necessary procedures needed to be done. On September 7th she got her CT scan and on September 10th she got her chest xray and by September 14th we got the news--the cancer had spread to both her abdomen and chest. On September 21st Bella got her port put in her chest for chemo. Chemo was set to be 5days in a row (Mon-Fri) with two weeks off for 4cycles. In order for chemo to begin we had to wait for insurance to approve.
Finally on October 10th Bella's insurance approved chemo to begin. Bella had her first week begin October 15th 2018. Remember insurance can cover only so much and Bella was sent the cost breakdown of each treatment. Besides her daily co-pay of $50-$75 each service, each week will cost $1232.00!!!
If you know Bella she is an amazing person to say the least. Hard working, caring, loving, would do anything for anyone, even a complete stranger. Her resilence is something I definitely admire! This has hit our family hard, not to mention Bella lives over 2,000 miles away from home.
With the holidays coming up Bella will not be able to come home to see her family, and with the first week of chemo under her belt, the effects are just beginning. She will not always be able to work, making it hard on her not only financially, but Bella loves people! She lives to help! Between her squads she coaches and the customers she serves, Bella is a very active and social person! So much I'm told the nurses at chemo love her already!
I am starting this page to help Bella and our family get thru this. I want her mother to be able to visit her whenever she can, but right now she's striving to help pay for treatment. Bella has a long road and to be able to provide her with any comforts is my goal. With your help Bella can not only pay for treatment, but also worry less about what the future may hold.
Many people already want to help, and have! We love you all for that! But many of us are so far away we don't know how! This is a great start! Bella has weathered many storms and as she told her mom, "this is just another storm that will pass."
