Bell Tower Restoration
Donation protected
The Village of Richland, Michigan was established in 1830. The very next year (1831) the Presbyterian Church of Gull Prairie (present-day First Presbyterian Church Richland) was established as the first church in Kalamazoo County, MI. The church and the Village have enjoyed a connected history and legacy ever since.
The current sanctuary was built 160 years ago (1861). The original high, ornate steeple was declared unsafe in 1886 and replaced by the current, shorter bell tower. Now it is time to replace the bell tower with a new tower and a steeple which will once again resemble the iconic landmark of the original.
The total restoration cost is $275,000. The church members and the community have raised all but $50,000 of the needed goal. We humbly ask for your donation to help us fund our new steeple. Your generous contribution will help us keep the legacy alive!
