In Loving Memory of Belinda Sarkodie
Donation protected
We are heartbroken to share the tragic passing of Belinda Sarkodie Agyemang, a vibrant young woman whose life was senselessly cut short in a random act of gun violence at a bus stop in Hamilton, Canada. Belinda was an innocent bystander, and her sudden loss has left her family and community in deep mourning.
Born on October 22, 1998, in Konongo, Ghana, Belinda was the youngest of three children in a close-knit and loving family. She completed her basic education at Konongo Mines A School in 2013 and continued to Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) in Kumasi, graduating in 2016. Her passion for learning led her to the University of Education, Winneba – Mampong Campus, where she studied Environmental Science and graduated with First Class Honours in 2021.
In 2024, she relocated to Hamilton, Canada, with hopes of building a bright future. Her time here, though brief, was filled with hard work, hope, and quiet strength.
Belinda was known for her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit. She touched many lives with her affable nature and was dearly loved by her mother, siblings Richard and Linda, and her late father James Sarkodie, who passed in 2017. She also leaves behind extended family, friends, and a community that cherished her deeply.
The Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Ontario (GCA0), along with the Ghana Association of Hamilton, stands in solidarity with the Sarkodie family during this incredibly painful time. As they now face not only emotional devastation but also unexpected funeral expenses, we are calling on the compassion of the community.
We kindly ask for your support through this GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to assisting the family with funeral costs and related needs. We invite you to share this campaign to help us reach others who may wish to offer support.
Thank you for standing with us in love, solidarity, and remembrance of a beautiful soul taken too soon.
Rest in perfect peace, Belinda.
