In support of Beverly

Donation protected
Many of you know my mom, Bev.  Some of you do not. If anyone was in need of anything, my mom would do anything she could to try to fix it.  Need a place to stay?  Call Bev.  You're hungry? Call Bev.  And never an unkind word or a grumble....even when she didn't have enough to take care of herself.  There have been times she couldn't put food in the frig for her but she'll make sure anyone who is hungry will eat.
And it has been rough.  There have been plenty of times she could barely make all the bills.  She is turning 72 this year and is still working her butt off, every day, because she can't make it on social security alone.  Her medical coverage is minimal and you know that medicare doesn't take care of everything.  She and I and Justin take turns helping each other out.
Beverly has been diagnosed with Stage 2 non-small cell lung cancer.  Fortunately, her doctor feels it is still operable.  However, that means there has been, and will be, a lot of time off.  Her surgery is scheduled for June 13th.  My mom is not the kind of person to ask for help.  She will struggle on her own before she'll admit she needs help.  So I'm asking for her.  On top of all that, she will be needing to move, as soon as possible after recovery, as the house she lives in is contaminated with mold.
She is going to be off work for several weeks after the surgery.  She only has  a few vacation days to sell back.  I am not going to be able to help much as I need to take the time to take care of her.  I am asking for your help.  The stress of worrying about money and how to pay the bills will not help her heal.
Please, if you could find it in your heart to help, even a little, we would be so very appreciative.  My mom has a lot of friends but who will come through for her when she really needs it?  I know she would be there for you.  Whatever money is donated will go towards the household bills, food, medical expenses and gas to get to doctor appointments, etc.  We don't have a strong support system.  It's Bev, myself and Justin.  I, and Justin, will be the only caregivers while she is recovering.  I have never had much luck with fund raising but I am hoping that this will be the exception.  We could use help with any offers to cook or clean as well, as the house will have to be free of as much air pollutants as possible while she is in recuperation mode.
