Believing healing for Birkie!

For as long as I can remember, my father has been a beaming light in my family. His light has always been so bright, that those who were hurting, or those who needed support or help, could run towards him and find a safe place. Within my father's loving heart, they would find a place that not only supported and uplifted them, but he made sure that he never passed any judgement on those who sought him out. So when I look at my father's magnificent life, there is nothing that I want more, at this moment, than to rally around him, and turn that same light that he invested in so many others, towards him. On 9/1/2020  my father,  lovingly known amongst family as"Birkie", suffered a stroke which left him with significant left sided weakness. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks and spent roughly 3 weeks in acute rehab. I see the fight in him as he works every day to regain full strength in his body.

Being a fighter is nothing new to Birkie. I watched him fight for my mother, as she stood up against breast cancer. With his support, she won that battle...TWICE! I watched him fight to put three children through college. And I watched in admiration, as he fought to keep this family together as my two older siblings went home to be with the Lord. Fighting hard and finishing strong is what he has always done. But with this fight, I am asking that you come alongside him, and see him through to yet another victory!

This gofundme is to assist my parents with medical expenses and necessary home health aides  to help  provide his in home care for the next  few months.  Please join us in the fight and continue to keep my Birkie in your prayers. <3

-occupation: 350 operator with West Fraser in Augusta, Ga.

As I come back home to Augusta, I continue to meet countless  men who described how my father developed them on the job and got them through tough seasons. I am so proud of the legacy that he has left through his career.

1.)Yard work and maintenance! His absolute favorite past time. He prided himself on having the most pristine yard in the neighborhood.
2.) Spending time with family and connecting to his roots in his home town in Matthew, GA.
