Hi everyone! I'm Chanel Williams, but to most of you, I'm known as Dance Toot! My journey into the world of professional dance and choreography wasn't the typical story of early training and endless opportunities. Growing up, the idea of a career in dance felt like a distant dream, something people "where I'm from" didn't often pursue. The focus was on stability, getting a job, and paying the bills. That was the blueprint.
It wasn't until my later high school and early college years that I truly discovered the vast and vibrant dance world. From that moment, I knew I couldn't just be a part of it – I was called to help others recognize that their inherent gift is enough. There's no need for a "plan B" when "plan A" is your undeniable passion.
Years later, with immense gratitude, I can say, "God did it, and He's still doing it!" I've become a professional choreographer, performer, mentor, and even an author, pouring into others, creating shows, and traveling the world doing what I love. Each step has been a part of a larger plan unfolding.
My move to Nashville in 2018 ignited my career, and my time in Atlanta starting in 2021, with its highs and lows, birthed my mentorship program, tour life, and so much more. In 2024, my business and mentorship program, "STARPower," expanded into a dance abroad experience, bringing 11 incredible dancers from across the US to train and immerse themselves in the beauty of London, UK.
Everywhere I've been and everything I've learned has fueled my mission to uplift my community and give back to my people. This new season is no different! It's time to BLOOM.
This June 2025, I'm embarking on a significant move to Los Angeles, California, and there's much to prepare for both here in Memphis before I leave and once I arrive in LA. This is where I humbly ask for your support.
My "Believe and Bloom in LA" campaign will be filled with exciting events, classes, workshops, and more. While many of these will be local in Memphis, TN, I didn't want to limit the opportunity for you to be a part of this journey.
