Belcarra Fire Victims

On Sunday, April 9th, 2017, a fire destroyed two houses in Belcarra. Both structures were completely destroyed. One house was unoccupied, but the other house was home to three Burnaby Mountain Secondary students. The family was renting the home and they had no insurance. This is a devastating loss for any person, but for three teenage kids this loss is particularly hard.
These kids lost all their clothing, bedroom furniture, photos, electronics, and mementos from their childhood. While we can't replace mementos, we can hopefully help get them back to a semblance of normality by helping them to buy replacement clothing and regular teen necessities.
Our community feels strongly about helping our students during this time and we look forward to as much community, financial support as possible.
As you can imagine, the need is urgent, so we hope that donations can be made as soon as possible.
All donations will be directed to the father who lost his home, as he is in the best position to determine the needs of his children.
