Help Bel in Recovery of her Stage 4 Cancer

At the end of 2022, our beautiful friend and colleague Belinda (Bel) learned that she had ovarian cancer and was about to embark on the fight of her life! And fight Bel did! After many gruelling rounds of chemo, causing her to lose the beautiful, flowing auburn hair that was synonymous with her fiery spirit, she moved into remission. Friends and family collectively breathed a sigh of relief, that our wonderful, giving, and one of a kind Bel was going to be alright!

However, on 5th June, this year Bel received the devastating news that not only was the cancer back, it had spread to much more of her body.

But Bernie's* "stubborn little red head" is not ready to give up, and neither are we!!

Hope4Cancer is a 'patient-centred integrative and alternative cancer treatment in Mexico' that is getting good results by offering a complete approach to cancer treatment (physical, spiritual and emotional). We're raising money to help get Bel there, because the current clinical treatment on offer here in Australia will only get her so far, and because we're not prepared to accept those limitations!

For those of you who don't yet have the pleasure of knowing Bel, she is a beautiful, selfless person. Someone who, even through her own suffering, provides the time and space for others to feel important whenever they are around her. She is the first person to step in and help out anyone who is in need of help, including donating a kidney to her now ex-husband, without thinking of the possible impact to herself.

Now it’s our time to give back to Bel for all of the love, help and sacrifice she has provided over the years.

All proceeds will go towards helping Bel get to Mexico to avail herself of much needed treatment and all the costs associated with the specialist appointments, scans and generally being away from work. Any donation (big or small) will make a HUGE difference to Bel’s fight against this insidious disease!
