On Friday, June 21, 2025, Bekah went to the Emergency Department for headaches. An MRI showed a 3x3 cm brain tumor, which was removed the following Monday. The biopsy detected HER-2 breast cancer had spread to her brain. Disappointing news after completing breast cancer treatment in March. Gratefully, the post-MRI showed no residual spots from the tumor and two untouched 0.6mm spots had 'disappeared.'

On Monday, July 14, Bekah went to a follow-up appointment and was sent to the emergency department to have additional imaging completed. The imaging showed the cancer had resurged in the same spot from where the tumor was removed. Their neurosurgeon told them she has never seen brain cancer be this aggressive before.

As a result, that Thursday, Bekah started the first of ten consecutive radiation treatments with the Duke University clinical trial appointment on July 29.

Bekah and her husband, Paul, have a great medical team surrounding her with treatment.
