Beirut Explosion - help us rebuild Madame Om

Madame Om was not just a pub, Om was our friend! The massive explosion of August 4 at the Beirut port (facing Madame Om) completely destroyed this beautiful place that was on the first floor of the old Lebanese “Blue building”. Madame Om is no more!
Om was a unique space that brought people together. It was a space for freedom to express in any way you want. We had poetry nights, stand-up comedies, game nights, karaoke, magnificent drag queen shows and there was always the famous oriental parties every Thursday and Saturday. These parties would take you to another world where love, dance and good vibes were all there was.
We refer to Om as if she was a person rather than a place.
We will get Om back up and dancing for sure. We need your help and love to pick up the broken pieces and start looking for a new home to build Om from scratch. Om was home to many and those beautiful people who were more family than clients are waiting eagerly to lend a helping hand to bring back Om again. We were overwhelmed with messages of care, love, sadness and hope.
The funds donated will be used for re-establishing from scratch, renting out a new location similar to the one destroyed (old Lebanese architecture), pay salaries to the full time employees who were left with damages to their homes and no income to sustain them. We are building it up from zero.
