Severe Burn Victim Needs Your Help

Last August, Dave suffered 3rd degree burns over 90% of his body.  He was not expected to live,  but by the grace of God, he has.  He spent about 6 months in the DMC Burn Unit in Detroit and then the last 2 months at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan also in Detroit. He is the worst burn case they have ever dealt with.   His journey is far from over and his Medical needs are extensive.  He had no medical insurance and is on Medicaid.  We are grateful for that, but there are many things that are not covered and he is being released to his Mom and Grandfather for in home care within the next two weeks.  He has many health issues, including open wounds and many surgeries are needed in the near future.  He is immobile and in need of many things that are not covered by Medicaid including a wheel chair access ramp along with additional in home care.  In the future, once he has had surgery to release the tendions in his wrists, he will eventually need prosthetic hands.  He is also in need of psychiatric care and counseling to sort out his feelings regarding where he is now and how he got here.  He has chronic pain and is totally dependent on others for everything and a very limited support system.
