Dear beheard.world Friends and Supporters,
It's time to make a difference. We have a donor who will match the next $2,500 to raise money to benefit beheard.world's ongoing work to counter racism. So far, with mail-in contributions we have raised $6,000 to date. Help us keep the momentum going by using the arts to open peoples' hearts to start critical conversations about racism.
Coming out of COVID, we have had another impactful and growing year! We made and toured a new piece to standing ovations throughout six Boston neighborhoods, Martha’s Vineyard, and New Hampshire; our newest film won best documentary at the LA Sun Film Festival and numerous other awards; and with our new Director of Education, Mishella Etienne-Campbell, we partnered with the Boston Public Schools to expand our youth arts summer programs into six new sites.
Beheard.world is at a pivotal point in our growth and impact. We have opportunities to create and tour a new work, Belonging and Othering, to schools and towns across New England and the Deep South. In the Film Department, Jay Paris has received funding support for the creation of a new film, Lenox Dreams, that tracks a group of former teenagers who worked with our troupe or artists eight years ago to explore how the experience has influenced their lives. And from our Education Department, we want to expand our Teach, Mentor, and Inspire Program to more schools and youth sites.
With your support we want to raise $30,000 for our 2023 season of continued performances, workshops and film showings. We are more excited than ever to utilize the arts to help heal the inequities so many of our communities face.
With appreciation and love,
Anna Myer, Director of the Performing Arts
Mishella Etienne-Campbell, Director of Education
Jay Paris, Director of Films
