My name is Hamza Saidani. I was born in Libya, raised in Morocco, and raised again—by art, by language, by struggle, and by hope.

I’m 21 years old. Every day, I carry two things with me: a deep love for storytelling, and the heavy truth that passion alone does not pay tuition.

Today, I’m studying English Literature at Chouaib Doukkali University. I chose English because I love language, but even more because it was my only open door. But behind that door, I discovered something even bigger: the power of visual storytelling.

I didn’t grow up with access to art schools, expensive cameras, or formal training. What I had was a phone, a vision, and a feeling I couldn’t ignore. I began capturing everything—the silence of my neighborhood, the unspoken strength in people’s eyes, the beauty we walk past every day. This became my voice.

Everything changed when I found the NKOON Cultural Center in El Jadida. They believed in me. They gave me a space to learn photography, cinematography, and collaboration. It was there that I worked on real film projects, including two with the amazing director Oualid Ayoub. For the first time, I didn’t feel like an outsider. I felt like a filmmaker.

Then, a miracle happened: I was accepted into ESAV — Morocco’s top school for audiovisual studies. A dream I never thought I could touch.

But dreams, even when they open their doors, often come with a price.

The tuition is 52,000 MAD per year. I don’t have it. My family doesn’t have it. I come from a modest background where surviving always comes before dreaming. But today, I want to change that story.

I’m asking—not for pity, but for belief. If you believe in art, in potential, in second chances, and in what one voice can become when it’s given a shot—please help me.
