Hello, all you cool cats and kittens!

My name is Bee, and I'm a freelance music writer and horror film critic. I have bylines in Nashville Scene, Bloody Disgusting, Dread Central, Flood Magazine, and The Bluegrass Situation, among many others. Plus, I was featured in Shudder's 10th Anniversary Favorite Frights campaign last year. See my piece here.

Why am I doing this?

Well, 2026 is off to a bangin' start. I've been job hunting for the past six months. I had a contract gig with LG Electronics from May to November 2025 and began looking for work in August.

I've applied to everything from entertainment journalist gigs and medical content writer positions to local work at several hotels and retail jobs (Dollar Tree, Walmart, etc.). Not a single interview. I've even updated my resume, which you can check out here.

I'm currently a frequent paid contributor to Dread Central, Macabre Daily, The Bluegrass Situation/Good Country, No Depression, and Nashville Scene.

I've been writing and reporting for nearly 15 years. I've held several staff writer jobs with AXS, American Songwriter, and Dexerto. When I was a contributor for SlashFilm for nearly two years, I worked so much that I could support myself on that alone.

Thanks to Trump, 70% of housing programs were cut, including a prominent initiative here in West Virginia with the Southwestern Community Action Council. I’ve reached out to another program for rental assistance, and I’m currently working with a local church for food assistance. Plus, I got Medicaid!
