Beekeeper's Hives & Bees Burned in Fire

Beekeeper, Clay Ford, tragically lost 73 of 81 bee hives when the LNU Complex fire raced through Pleasants Valley last week.
Clay has spent 8 years cultivating and caring for the bees. Clay admitted, "It was heartbreaking to see the devastation. The bees never had a chance."
Clay vows to reestablish bee colonies and in his words, "The bees will fly again!"
The cost of materials to build one hive and replace one bee colony is $275. Your generous donation of any amount will be used to reestablish bee colonies in the burned areas.
According to Beekeeper Clay, the goal is for bees to be flying and pollinating again this spring. Your donation will be used solely for the purpose of establishing new bee colonies.
Your gift of any amount will help, because the hives and bee colonies were not covered by insurance.

"I love beekeeping and caring for bees! It warms my heart to see someone's face light up at the farmers market with their first taste of real honey! "
"When the smoke was blowing through the town of Vacaville I had a nervous feeling in my gut. When I had gone to bed the night before the fires were in Napa County on the other side of the mountains. When I woke up, all of my bees and so many ranches were reduced to ashes. I had small apiarys in different locations over about eight miles and was hopeful that the majority would make it through. Unfortunately, the fire destroyed 73 of 81 hives. From the ashes and with so much support I have determined to rebuild, for indeed the bees will fly again!"
Each hive is home to about 40,000 bees working to pollinate crops, plants and food.
