Hi all, my name's Bee. I'm a 34 year old trans woman from the UK and I need help to afford electrolysis to remove facial hair.

I had about a year's worth of laser hair removal treatment done on my face, generously paid for by a friend from the US, and while it helped, some of the progress has been lost since my last session quite some months ago now and a lot of the hair on my face proved too coarse and stubbon to get rid of with laser.

Said friend is a Veteran and has been getting screwed over one way or another by the current US Administration and hasn't been able to afford to send me money for this stuff so after some encouragement from a friend I'm making this gofundme.

I'm disabled and out of work, have been for a long time, and I can barely afford to make ends meet each month, usually ending up in my overdraft, let alone pay for any kind of gender affirming care and my biggest source of dysphoria is my face. To keep my face properly smooth I'd need to shave every day, but if I do so every day, my skin ends up raw, sore and irritated, and even after shaving, the shadow from the hair is obvious, which I try and cover with makeup. So as a result, I have to leave my skin a day or two to recover before shaving again, which compounds the dysphoria, my skin is always messed up and the whole thing really, really gets me down.

The friend that recommended I make this fund advised me to try and raise enough for 10-20 hours, so I'm starting with trying to raise enough for 10 hours, which from a local clinic is £72 per hour, totalling £720.

I realise I've not attached a picture of my face or anything like that, which obviously helps these things meet their funding goals, but the thought of taking a picture of my face unshaved, irritated and red makes me want to tear my own skin off, so I hope everyone reading this understands, but if things are moving slowly I may just add one to help things along ><
