Beds for the Dogs of Akagera National Park, Rwanda

With the help of Bubba's Beds for Shelter Friends, I'm raising money to provide necessary special beds for the dogs of the Canine Anti-Poaching Unit who protect the wildlife of Akagera National Park in Rwanda. When I visited there last year and met the dogs, I saw that they did not have beds, but only raised wooden platforms to rest and sleep on. It broke my heart, so I'm doing something about it. The Akagera dogs are highly trained to combat wildlife poaching in the park. Bubba's Beds for Shelter Friends, who I volunteered with in Puerto Rico, will be making this happen if I can raise the funds needed!
The restoration of Akagera National Park after the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 is somewhat of a miracle. The wildlife and ecosystem of Akagera was destroyed during and in the aftermath of the genocide.
