Bedding for Hope Lodge, Cleveland

The Joseph S. & Jeannette M. Silber Hope Lodge is a unique home away from home for people who need temporary, comfortable, supportive accommodations offered free of charge during cancer treatment. For its guests, Hope Lodge offers 31 guest rooms with a private bedroom/bathroom suite (most rooms have 2 double beds) and shared kitchen, library, dining room, living room, and surrounding gardens.

Guests make themselves at home, engaging in such normal activities as buying groceries, preparing meals, doing dishes, working at the computer terminals, working out, or watching television. Hope Lodge provides a positive environment for those seeking either privacy or the supportive fellowship of others experiencing similar circumstances and emotions.

Since early 2020, the start of the pandemic, Hope Lodge has been closed out of safety concerns for the cancer population it serves. During that time, the facility has undergone some renovations to improve on the extraordinary experience they provide. One of these improvements is an expansion of the kitchen and dining areas.

Depending on the direction of the pandemic, Hope Lodge is looking to open back up in October or November 2021. This is really great news to all of the local medical institutions that utilize their services. And even greater news for those cancer patients who need lodging during a very difficult time in their life.

Prior to opening back up, there are a few wish list items that are desperately needed. One of the items is bedding for all of the bedrooms in the facility. The total cost of this bedding is about $8000. In the spirit of caring, I've created this fundraiser in the hope of raising enough $$ to provide the necessary items that Hope Lodge seeks!

The group spearheading this initiative is a dedicated group of individuals who work closely with cancer patients to provide treatment options while battling cancer. We are very passionate about the patients we care for and want the best for them during a very difficult time in their life.
