I never thought I’d be the girl who couldn’t get pregnant, it’s a subject that literally never crossed my mind, something that you could never understand unless you’ve been through it. It’s something that I’ve cried about for the past couple of years, how could my body betray me and not do the one thing I feel a woman’s body was made for? I’m young, I’ve worked hard to keep my body (mostly) healthy, I’ve given up so much over the years for this one thing I want more than anything and it seems so, so far out of reach.
I’ve been married to my amazing husband for 4 years and we’ve been together for 11. Out of those 11 years my husband has been active duty for 7 years and will be leaving soon for his 5th deployment.
Once married having babies is just one of the things you assume comes along with it, so you stop trying to prevent it from happening. Years pass for us still no baby, you start to figure out that somethings not right. You see it happen all around you, constantly...but not for you. You go to the doctor, you have visit after visit, blood work after blood work, procedure after procedure, and even failed surgeries, year after year, you have no real answers and even worse, no baby...
Unfortunately, Tricare sees IVF as an “elective procedure” so most of the expense will be out of pocket. Which brings us to here, so we’re asking this, if you want to help us on this journey, we will forever be thankful. If you feel otherwise that is absolutely fine, but always know this..you absolutely never know what someone else is going through, just because something comes so easily for one doesn’t mean it will for another.
We thank you dearly for taking the time to read this, I know we have so far to go but as I look back over the past 11 years I am thankful for every step and thankful for my amazing husband who has been by my side every step of the way. We still have quite a journey ahead of us but we will get to the end of this heartache and I know everything will be worth the wait. The past several years have been very exhausting and desolate. These times have tested our faith and our patience. We are simply asking that in a time where everything has been so hard you help us make things easier.
