Help Becky stand back on her own two feet

Donation protected
On October 2, 2024, Becky Gonzalez-Campoy, my wife, had a dissection of the ascending aorta. The dissection cut off blood flow to all her vital organs. She survived the dissection. She survived the surgery to repair the dissection. But she is now disabled.

Becky's medical care has seen her go from a deep coma, completely unresponsive, through a period of recovery, to where she is now. Becky is confined to a motorized wheelchair, which she can operate with coarse movements of her left arm. This allows her some mobility. Beyond that, everything needs to be done for her.

She is facing the immediate upcoming challenges of getting her own chair (she is using one provided by her rehabilitation facility), securing a living situation where nursing assistance is available to her 24/7, and getting her own transportation to be able to keep all her medical appointments in her wheelchair. Additionally, Becky will need a home environment that meets her needs, totally handicapped accessible and friendly.

After a lifetime of motherhood and grandmotherhood, a career in healthcare administration, and as a tireless advocate for human rights, Becky decided to expand her horizons. Becky has a Master's Degree in Divinity and took her ministry to prison, helping inmates with personal growth and transitioning back into society. She has always given of herself and found joy in it.

Becky is now in a position to accept help, and we both welcome it.
