Beckie Griffith

The morning of Sunday, August 20, 2023, began like many other Sundays. Jeff and Beckie went to church service at Powell Butte Christian Church where they have attended for years. After the service, they picked up some things for a new shop that is under construction beside their home, and then went to lunch.

After listening to a message on miracles that morning, Jeff leaned over and took Beckie’s hand, looked into her face and marveled that she was one of God’s greatest miracles in his life. Beckie in her humorous way, asked if she had something on her face, but Jeff responded that he was just soaking in the moment and rejoicing in the fact that God had spared her life from the cardiac arrest episode that nearly took her life in December of 2020. Little did he know that his beloved wife would be gone within a few hours when she laid down on the couch for a rest and never woke up.

Beckie was tenacious. She loved big and hard and always looked on the bright side of things. She rarely complained about anything. She was always game for any kind of adventure, from hot air ballooning, ziplining, skydiving to bungee jumping. Her smile and laugh lit up whichever room she walked into. Beckie loved learning new things and had a keen interest in cutting edge medical technology. As a massage therapist in Prineville, Oregon for many years, she was one of the first to employ deep tissue laser therapy in her business. She treated many people in the Prineville community and beyond. Beckie also worked right alongside Jeff in home projects from pounding nails and fixing fences to driving machinery.

At the time of Beckie’s death, they were building a shop where they would be able to open a tannery. Beckie happily contributed her income toward this dream and looked forward to its completion. While Jeff is not one to ask for help, we his friends want to help him with Beckie’s funeral expenses and with finishing his shop. If you are able to contribute any amount, it will be put to good use and much appreciated.
