Dear Family & Friends

It is with a heavy heart that my family and I share the news of the unexpected passing of my mother, Becki Hernandez Diaz, on January 24th, 2024. If you had ever met my mother you would know from your very first introduction that she was one of a kind. She was sweet, kindhearted, smart, strong spirited, a friend in time of need, and a force to be reckoned with. As well as a loving, caring, compassionate and an empathic soul. The matriarch of her big family, always helping out family and loved ones. To her students at school she was a friend and additional mother figure, always caring and consoling them to make sure that they were ok.

I can still hear her singing, dancing, and laughing. Cheering and screaming watching football, baseball, and basketball games. Cooking any of her favorite special dishes and always putting out a spread of food big enough for a small village. If you came over and visited whether you were hungry or not she made sure you were fed and left full. Life burned so bright through my mother. Even at her weakest moments she still shined through the darkness. Our memories of her, her smile, her laughter, her embrace still linger with all of us and comfort us.
