Beck's Medical Expenses

First and foremost I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone for donating, all of the well-wishes, cards, thoughts, and prayers. Today Beck underwent surgery #3, which grafted some of her own skin to other burn areas along with aloe and working on the remaining stump on her right leg. She continues to be a sassy force to be reckoned with. There is still a long road ahead, but everything you're doing is helping. On Saturday, May 27th, my amazing sister Rebecca was injured by a bonfire while celebrating her 6th wedding anniversary to her husband Bill. During her fall, she broke her nose and sustained life threatening burns. She was airlifted from her home in New York to the burn trauma center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She will continue to undergo surgeries and treatment there for the next several weeks in preparation for her eventual transfer to Sunnyview Rehab Center in Schenectady, New York.

Due to the extent of Rebecca's injuries, the Doctors have so far had to amputate from her shin down on her right leg. Further amputation is needed, but we are hopeful she will be able to keep the knee. The extent of her injuries remains unknown. She has her 3rd surgery scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, June 2nd, for more skin grafts on several of the burns around her body.

Beck has a long road to recovery ahead of her, and her husband Bill has been by her side through everything. Due to his continued support of my sister, they are both out of work. Several friends and family members have reached out to ask how they can help both Beck and Bill. Donations through this account will directly help in Beck's recovery efforts and preparations of their home to make it accessible for her return. Once she heals these donations will help her to get fit for a prosthetic leg and to continue physical therapy.
