This is for Anson and Alex Beck. To tell you a little of the back story Anson and Alex have been together for as long as I've known them, over ten years. Back in 2015 or 2016, Anson and Alex decided to start a family of their own. It wasn't going as planned. Anson and Alex were having problems getting pregnant. Alex's lung started collapsing which lead to a diagnosis of a very rare disease called Catamenial Pneumothorax, that had been hindering they're ability to conceive. She 1st had to go through a very grueling and painful Lung and Diaphragm surgery to heal her disease where she lost 1 lobe on her right lung and 1/2 her diaphragm. Soon after a successful, but painful surgery, with the help of God, doctors, and many blessings Alex was able to get pregnant!! They had a beautiful son. Healthy, all ten fingers and toes and just a spit fire!! A year later she was able to get
pregnant and they had a second incredibly healthy and vibrant son, success!
Fast forward now to just after Thanksgiving 2019. Everything is like magic. They have two beautiful boys, earlier that year they bought their first home together and life in general was amazing. Anson was away overseas with work and Alex had been monitoring a lump in her breast which had took a quick and scary turn of concern. So she went to her doctor again and they ran more detailed tests. Alex was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer, it is a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Although it is very curable, the patient undergoes a grueling and also very aggressive form of treatment. The treatment for Alex is going to be 16 weeks of intensive Chemo followed my surgery followed by radiation followed by 1 Year of less invasive a chemo treatment.
This brings me to why i am asking for everyone's help, however large or small it may be. My mom and dad both died of cancer. with my mom, like Anson and Alex, she had medical insurance. With that said, there were several instances where her insurance would not cover certain treatments, so we were out of pocket to insure she received everything she could. Some of these expenses were in access of $2000 dollars. That is just a sliver of why i am reaching out for support for Anson and Alex. Like i mentioned earlier, they have two young boys, that don't know or really understand what's wrong with their mommy. Also, they just purchased their first home last year. Anson is the sole provider for his family.
Anson is planning on taking an extended absence from his job to take care of and be by his wife's side. In the coming weeks Alex will become so weak she will be mostly bed ridden because of the aggressive form of chemotherapy she is receiving. And they both will be praying there are no setbacks.
With the fear of the unknown and possibly losing your wife, best friend, and mother of your children, I would hope that we could raise enough money so that they can focus on beating this disease and not have the financial burden that it causes. With that said, anyone that knows Alex, knows that she fights and she fights hard. This is a steep mountain she is climbing, but her vision is clear, and she will win this fight, whatever it takes. So, the money will help go towards uncovered treatments, living expenses, child care if and when needed and any other unforeseen expenditures that may arise.
In closing thank you all for taking the time to read their story. I also would like to say, with any money that remains after Alex's treatments and recovery, i will have the remainder of any money donated to breast cancer awareness foundation. Thank you all for your time and God Bless.
