Becca's autoimmune encephalitis education fund

Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Becca Cudmore on December 19, 2022, at the age of 32 due to complications of autoimmune encephalitis (aealliance.org). To leave a message about Becca, please visit the Bollman Funeral Home Tribute Center web page at https://www.bollmanfuneralhome.com/memorials/rebecca-cudmore/5099061/index.php

In honor of Becca Cudmore's memory, her family and friends are working to fund educational tools to increase awareness about autoimmune encephalitis (AE). We are currently evaluating options to convene Becca’s medical and mental health providers, along with Becca's connections within the journalism world, to create either a podcast, video or publication about Becca’s story to increase awareness in the general public and among our medical community about AE. Funds not utilized for this project will be donated to the Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance to help better understand and treat this terrible disease - and support those who are living with it each day.

For those who would like to learn more - there was a well-known book published about another young woman journalist's plight with AE we would strongly encourage all to read called “Brain on Fire." Here is also a video explaining the disease on the Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance's web page: https://aealliance.org/patient-support/what-is-ae/
