Please donate to the most selfless and gracious woman and family during a tragic and sudden medical emergency.
Rebecca Amaral underwent a routine surgery on Monday 09/28/2020. She was sent home after her surgery to heal. 2 days later, Wednesday night, she was non-responsive to her family. Her mother called the ambulance and Becca was taken to BID in Plymouth. She was admitted to ICU, where she was put into a medically induced coma. The family was told she had a large infection in her lungs and they were full of fluid. She was med-flighted to Mass General Hospital in Boston the next day. The doctors there have concluded that she does not have an infection in her lungs, but rather a fat embolism that traveled through her body and has broken into pieces in her brain.
She has had issues sustaining her oxygen levels since this began, but is doing better now. She has been opening and closing her eyes, but still little response, except to pain. The medical professionals do not know when there will be a change at this time, it is simply a waiting game to see if the fat emboli move and allow her to gain neurologic response(s).
She is a 26 year old mother of 2 beautiful daughters (age 2 & 6). She is the wife of Nick Amaral, the daughter of Scott and Michelle Alexander, and sister to Kerri, Erin and Scottie. She has many other family members and friends who have been praying for her.
The family have put their lives on hold to pray and support Becca, her children and husband. All donations will help pay for the routine living expenses for Becca and her family and the numerous medical bills being accrued for Becca's care.
We will continue to put updates on this page as often as we can. Thank you for supporting Becca and her family, and sharing this donation page.
