Cruisin' Towards A Cure for PF...

Our father, Douglas R. Partenheimer was diagnosed with IPF in April 2006. He lost his battle with this disease on January 14, 2010—just short of a lung transplant. Looking to satisfy the desire to raise money for research, as well as raise awareness of this little known disease, we looked to one of our father’s passions and hobbies: car shows. Our father was a wonderful, God-fearing man, who loved his family, friends, and community. He lived in Holland, IN all of his life, was employed locally with Holland Dairies (now Prairie Farms) for 35 years, and was also a 35-yr volunteer fire-fighter and first responder. He was an active member in the Holland United Methodist Church and a member of the gospel singing group "A Joyful Noise"

After careful consideration, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of our annual in person event “Cruisin’ Towards a Cure for PF...Because Breathing Matters” scheduled for ‪October 3, 2020‬. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. We value the health and wellness of all participants, volunteers, and spectators involved. Our event and foundation are incredibly important to our family and it is a treasured way to celebrate a great man and our Dad, Douglas Partenheimer. However, our mission remains the same, we have a passionate belief to promote awareness for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and work to fund research to find a cure for this horrible disease.

In place of an in person event, we will be providing an online donation platform beginning in October for those who are interested in giving so stay tuned for updates. Proceeds of this online fundraiser will be shared with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to fund research to find a cure, just as we have done in the past. We hope to hold an in person event in 2021.
